Peter founded Beames & Associates in 2001 to fill what he saw as a business niche going begging in the Canberra market. That niche was for a firm that could offer the competency and experience of the ‘big 4’ but at cost effective rates. He believed there was a market for professional and sound accounting and business advice that didn’t cost the earth.

Peter’s analysis proved correct, as Beames & Associates has gone from strength to strength and is now widely regarded as one of the most progressive and dynamic firms in the ACT. Its team provides business and auditing services to both the private and public sectors, both in Canberra and globally.

This reputation is due both to the honest and professional advice the company provides, and the team of seasoned professionals and young graduates Peter has recruited. As a businessman, Peter knows not only the ins and outs of his profession, but also that recruiting and keeping good staff is essential. This means getting a balance between work and home life.

To achieve this balance, Peter ensures Beames & Associates is flexible in providing leave for study and professional development. In March 2006 the firm installed remote access software to allow staff to work from home one or two days a week.

Professionally, Peter specialises in advising privately owned businesses, as well as established corporate entities, on how to grow into larger and more successful concerns. He has also created numerous products and consulting techniques that have been embraced by Beames & Associates in its service culture.
